The company has introduced practical and lightweight home cleaning solutions that can be used by home owners at a very low cost and can be easily stored when not in use.
As a company, Bissell believes that cleanliness of the planet is an extension of cleanliness of the home. It extends this philosophy by designing products that contribute to a greener and sustainable environment.
Features & Performance
Imagine having a steam mop that takes the chore out of mopping hard floors. Yes, the Bissell 1867-7 not only makes it much easier to clean hard floors, it also is much more effective than a mop and a bucket. It not only cleans, but it releases steam that helps to kill germs and sanitize hard floors. The Bissell 1867-7 is a lightweight and efficient steam cleaning tool that is easily usable straight out of the box.
It comes with microfiber mops that are machine washable and reusable. It warms up and is ready for use within a matter of seconds after it is plugged in. It works effectively on hard surface types such as marble, linoleum, vinyl, sealed wood and practically all types of common flooring. Steam can be released on demand by a single press of the steam release trigger. The steam works its way through the cracks and crevices in your flooring to remove all types of dried stains. It kills germs and sanitizes the surface you are cleaning.
The built in steam release mechanism has another major advantage. You don't have to put up with the fumes and strong smells of harsh chemicals or disinfectants. Some of the cleaning formulations that are available at supermarkets may contain chemicals that leave a residue on the floors. These chemicals can be harmful for children, pets and people with allergies.
The 1867-7 features a replaceable filter that helps to protect the heater and pump from dissolved salts, chemicals, chlorine and other impurities that may be found in tap water. Using distilled water is recommended to prolong the life of the filter. The tool has an on-board mechanism that tells you when to replace the filter.
Summary
Most users opine that the 1867-7 is very simple to use and gives excellent cleaning results even with stubborn stains and high traffic areas such as the bathroom and kitchen.
It is lightweight, easy to store and has a 360 degree swivel head that makes it convenient to clean the edges and corners of floors. It is an inexpensive cleaning tool that will not set you back by a minor fortune.
On the flip side, users feel that the power cord could have been longer. Users also feel that the floor takes a long time to dry out.
All in all, minor issues apart, the 1867-7 does a good job of what it is supposed to do, and that is clean hard flooring.

It's a LEMON

Reviewer: Qrelli,
Read alot of reviews, majority were positive...so went to Target and purchased one. Couldn't wait to get home and use it. Easy to assemble...ready to use!!!! Couldn't get any steam...read the book again and found that initial use note indicating it could take "several" seconds for it to begin steaming, so gave it "several" seconds...NO STEAM. Decided to try it again and gave it "several" minutes...NO STEAM. It did, however, leave water and streaks on my floor. Evidently the one I purchased is a LEMON...am taking back to Target to get my money back and am going to try the Eureka.

Absolutely love this mop. My neighbor ordered one a few months ago and I borrowed it and loved it as she does. Does great job, easy to use, does not get floor wet or streak floor; leaves hardwood and laminate clean and shiny. Neighbor has 20 month old great grandson and is so happy her floor is sanitized for him.

This steam mop lives up to its name, I only have small areas that can be cleaned by steam, and it does an excellent job of getting them clean.

Ideal for the chemically sensitive or those with small children, the Bissell Steam Mop deep-cleans hard-surface floors using the power of pure water alone. No harsh (or expensive) cleaners means no fumes or residues to irritate lungs or muddy delicate finishes, while the use of hot steam rather than buckets of water leaves floors dry in just seconds. Heated and ready to use in 30 seconds, the remarkably quiet mechanism works something like an iron: steam is dispensed on demand, rather than continuously, by pressing the trigger while passing the mop over the floor. Hot steam easily removes hardened and sticky gunk, especially if the mop sits over the mess for a few seconds. (Leave it in place 15 seconds to actually sanitize the cleaning surface.) The machine steams for approximately 15 minutes before the tank needs to be refilled, but there's no lag once you refill it.
The Steam Mop's low-profile 360-degree swiveling head accesses hard-to-reach nooks and crannies, like under kitchen cabinets, while its compact profile stores easily in small spaces. Other thoughtful design touches include a quick-release cord wrap and easy-carry handle, as well as a built-in water filter to protect from the minerals and impurities in hard water. (An indicator lets users know when the filter need to be replaced.) Durable, reusable microfiber pads are safe on all sealed hard surfaces and clean up nicely in the washing machine, making them more environmentally friendly than disposable options. Measuring 6 by 11 by 45-1/2 inches, the Bissell Steam Mop weighs less than 7 pounds and is covered by a one-year limited warranty.--Mary Park
